tibia, fibula, patella • Insertion into elongated/linear surgical wound with suture closure • Folded and inserted where large muscles of forearm, legs, (quadriceps), etc. or other muscle(s) has been surgically or traumatically removed • Insertion into thoracic or abdominal body cavity with any open/gapping wound • Used as space filler in thoracic/abdominal cavities when organs from autopsy are not returned |
